Cant get my Bally 5500 to accpt coins.... it DID at one point! Please help!

I just got a blazing 7's 5500 proslot. put in a battery & reset the game, it went into game mode. Its a 2 coin max game. it was only taking one coin then the rest would just fall through. Now it wont take ANY quarters, I even went as far as bending the rake on the coin comparator to make the coins fall through the optos. If I open the door & pull the door switch open (to make it think the door is closed) I can see the green LED as well as the orange one briefly flicker as the quarters drop through. Even swapped the opto board with a spare I had, same thing. The test button does give credits with the door open.
The dollar bill acceptor DOES WORK, I can close the door, insert a few dollar bills & it adds credits & lets me play. Im starting to think maybe a board problem?

Replace the coin in the comparitor with a new coin. Set the sensitivity pot all the way CCW.

Is the small switch on the front of the MPU board frame in the up position?

The switch was up, tried everything, cleaned the prism...still no luck. Im leaning towards the coin comparator. In test I get the A0 error I think it was in test mode....
Badbaud you have some CC-16D ones for sale & maybe a COD board too?? or someone else?
