Help with Coin Out Jam error game king

Hi all,

Went to power on Game king this morning and got the low battery message. Removed MPU with power off and changed battery. When I placed back in I played a game and got a Coin Out Jam error message even though this as no hopper. I have read where sometimes the settings get messed up so I thought i would rekey the machine and reset. Removed board and this board only has one chip on daughter board ( used to seeing a base chip and game chips). Placed Key 22 and placed in machine. Got red screen but no bars or menu to reset.
Removed and placed game chip back and am back to where I was, but need to figure out what to do.
Only change that was made to this machine is pins are jumpered on the connector that goes to the counters so they dont click annoyingly

That's a 044MPU.  You need to use key 28 with it or better yet contact member RB and get a GKDEV39 bootchip for it.  Then you have a keychip built in and it will boot in seconds rather than minutes.

Thanks Tilt, figured out 28 was the right chip and all is good. Now talk to me about the boot chip thing. Not heard of that??

It allows you to turn off SHA/DSA checks on startup which results in the game booting in seconds rather than minutes.  It also has a keychip function built in so you don't need to remove the bootchip and install a keychip.  The less you have to handle the flash card, the better off you are.  They're pretty static sensitive.
