Need Help!!!
« on: March 21, 2020, 02:47:33 PM »
Hi Everyone!

I bought a BB2 machine a few days ago, because I am able to switch out games and play what I want. I was taught how to do the RAMCLEAR Card and have sucessfully changed a few games in the couple days I have owned it. The machine has a standard button panel.

Successfully I have been able to switch over to: Ruby Slippers, Airplane, Cascade Mountain, and Magic Time.

However, I bought two other games and am having issues with both of them to load:

Mystical Unicorn:

This came with no Dongle. It was able to unpack all software and OS and I was able to do the set up of the machine: Time, Comms, Device Config, and Denomination...and even progressives. After that it is done it starts showing the blue screen and shows configuring and it goes all the way to 99% and then a "Call Attendant" pops up in Big Yellow and it wont let me go back to the set up menu - Just freezes. So my questions are:

1. It appears my only research has led me to believe I have to have a OLED button panel, is that correct?
2. Is that the only way I can play this game, is get a new button panel? When I set it up and select button panel, could I just pick one that is OLED, even though mine is Standard?
3. Was this supposed to have a dongle is that what the issue is?

Invaders of the Planet Moolah:

This game was older the OS was only 64MB (which I thought was very odd) it is in the D. family as well as the 256MB software (maybe this is BB1 software)...

1. Can I use BB1 Software in this, if so what I am doing wrong.
2. When I put the these in, it never even unpacked, it just sat on the linux screen with out anything. (this MB is the same as the RAM clear card). So not sure what do???
3.So I had the genius idea of taking another operating system that was a bigger MB and tried with the software. And wallah! It unpacked everything, but right before it went to the Config screen it said game fault. I assume because it is the wrong OS family.

Last questions:

If this is the case does anyone know what games have to have the OLED Panel?

Can you use BB1 Games in BB2?

Thanks!

You cannot run BB1 games on a BB2.

There are two versions of mystical unicorn.  Most of the ones you find are the dongle less variety.  You cannot just choose oled if you don't have one, it will error out for sure.  When you get the big CALL ATTENDANT, if you turn the jackpot reset key, it will tell you why the game has stopped loading.

I am not 100% sure you can bypass the oled requirement, it is my understanding that you can't if the game calls for it.

Do you know where I can find a list of BB1 and BB2 Games?

Thanks!

Here is the picture of what I am getting on Mystical Unicorn - looks like it saying I do not have high enough resolution and need more width. I am assuming that g+ games cant be played in here, unless there is a work around?

From the looks of your picture, I'd say that you have a BB1 cabinet converted to BB2. (The tan speakers are a giveaway)

If that's the case, you probably have 19" monitors instead of the 22" BB2 monitors.

That may be the cause of your fault. But I'm not for sure, so maybe someone else will be able to explain it better.

A photo of the whole machine will be helpful.

Here you go. I think you are right. So the only real difference is the screens and the button panel...technically.

Which means games that cant run on here are wide screen games.

That is a BB1 with a top box conversion and NXT-2 CPU.

It will play many games but with the 19" monitors it will not play all games as some require the 22' monitor and some don't, as you have found out.

Thanks!

I have been trying to find which ones are "Widescreen" only games that wont work, so I wont make the mistake of buying something that wont work:

I am assuming that these are the ones that require Wide Screen:

G+ Deluxe 5x4 (Mystical Unicorn, Pirate Ship, etc.)

Do any of these other game families require wide screens:

G+ Deluxe (Laredo, Great Eagle Returns, Kronos, Laredo, etc.)

Double Money Burst (Great Owl, Dean Martin's Pool Party, etc.)

Colossal Reels (Spartacus, Van Helsing, etc.)

Reel Boost (Zeus III, Mystical Fortunes)

Most of use when converting our bb1's went all the way with dual widescreens.  Those that did only the mpu, went to widescreen and OLED panel soon after they realized the limitations you are facing.  One positive from your cabinet is that you can get a BB1 mpu (CPUNXT) and run the original bb1 games, which are very entertaining to this day and have more varied game play than bb2's basically free games and high volatility formula.

For the most part..

The following works with narrow screens:
G+
G+ 5x4
Money Burst
Rotating Wilds
Spinning Streak
Hot Hot Super respin (Requires EBB button panel)

The following will require widescreens
G+ deluxe (all G+ deluxe are 5x4)
Spinning streak progressive
Colossal Reels
Double Money Burst
Super Multi-Pay
Reel Boost

Extremely Helpful. To clarify, the G+ Deluxes I was asking about are ones that are not 5x4's, Buffalo Spirit, Laredo, etc. They are 5x3's.

Looking on You Tube, it looks like those machines all had wide screens.

Thanks Again!  Wish I did a bit more research before I bought this current one. Any idea how hard it is to switch out to make it a wide screen? Do I have to switch out both screens?

Yes, you have to switch out both screens, and the top screen you have comes from a dual screen BB1 that was converted.  You will need to get a standard topbox that is a big lower in height so the 22" monitor fits nicely (well as nicely as a retrofit goes).  There are a couple of threads of people who have done the conversion, although honestly, that was done when BB2's where going for 3K.  A bb2 cabinet goes for about 1K nowadays and are easy to find.  Getting both wide monitors will set you back at least $400 for used ones, plus then you have to custom make your own hardware to attach the monitor to the door.  Also you will need a power cable and touchscreen cable to adapt the monitors to your cabinet.  All told you are looking at around $550 plus your time, but then you would still need to get an OLED player panel which will set you back another $250 to $300.  You get my drift here?  It is a lot easier and probably better for your satisfaction to just find a good bb2 around your area.

My 2 cents:
There are a few kewl games I can't play on my BB2 with OLED button Panel and you are all set up for those...
Rather than buy a bunch of parts to widescreen yours just add a real BB2 cabinet to your collection...

There are a lot of keel dual screen BB1 games that will run on your cabinet if you get a BB1 CPU...
I have never done it but changing out the CPU sounds easier than changing out monitors...
You can also run single screen BB1 games and ignore the blank top screen...

I don't think you did wrong buying your slot cabinet!
I like casinos and I love slot machines
I lost a fortune, if you know what I mean
