looks like the coin lockout armature ... the thing that is behind the coin mech and causes coins to be rejected when the game doesn't want coins.


the coin lockout has a tendency to buzz after the armature or coil top gets worn, and a simple solution was take off the armature.  If the game functionally ignores the coin but keeps it instead of giving it back, no great harm - to the game owner :-)

Doesn’t look familiar, appears to have a lot of use possibly from coins.
Maybe part of a coin reject mechanism from another brand of machine.


Is it complete or is there evidence that part of it is missing?

if you don't have the schematic and other paperwork for the game, there's also some on the site for various 742A models.  I have more that haven't been processed/posted yet.  However, they made hundreds of versions of the 742A, so odds aren't great I have the exact schematic.
