WMS BB1 BV ISSUE

I have a WMS  BB1 with a BV issue kicking my butt. Getting BV comm failure error. Have changed BV's four times programmed for ID03, changed entire BV housing unit including the cable, checked and rechecked mother board jumpers, replaced cpu, replaced mother board , replaced cable from mother board to BV housing. have cleared and re-programmed four or five times The BV is a WBA. Anything left ???????? Thanks for any help or ideas. h

You sure you have the jumpers set right, they need to be TTL not rs-232 for wba's unless they have the sideboard attached.

I'm pretty sure they are set for TTL. There is no RS232 side board installed. Will check when I get to the shop.

I have a question which may or may not be relevant?

I thought R232 signals in the 12/13volt range, whereas TTL is only 0V to 3.3V/5V?

Plugging in a BV made for TTL signals with jumpers set for R232 on the bulkhead would inflict some damage to the BV interface? or no?

Raining today so I went to shop and checked jumpers were set to TTL. All jumpers in the 1-2 position. Programmed BV and installed in machines cleared and programmed. Same results ---- BV Come a probleas to bm Error. As last resort I cleared machine and installed a new game thinking I may have corrupted software. Same results. Thee same only thing left is I have two parts with the same problem.


Anyone with any ideas please let me know. I am at wits end. There has to be a problem somewhere or the machine would work. Thanks for any help.

Sometimes it's just the simplest things that can be overlooked....
Like for instance the bill validator setting.

Have you tried [Netplex] rather than [JCM] in the set-up?
Sometimes it's the interface on the back of the BV that's different?

Anyway, I'd try that for kicks?

I have seen charts with different setting for MEI and JCM BV's on a BB1. What is the correct setting for JCM and MEI BV's on a BB1. Thanks

These are from my cabinets with an MEI and a WBA.

WBA settings are JP1 RS-232, JP2 C-Loop, JP3 C-Loop
MEI settings are JP1 RS-232, JP2 RS232, JP3 C-Loop

Today I installed a MEI BV. The BV cycled and the green light blinked as usual. When the game came ready the green light kept blinking and the BV would not take bills. I took the BB1 CPU and installed in a BB2. The BV cycled normal but never came ready when the game came ready and the main door was shut. Any ideas ????

You probably have easytrax enabled on the validator.  You need to disable that with the MEI software
