New Quarter Size Slot Machine Tokens, also Nickel size

I'm looking to buy some New Quarter size tokens, not the .984 size..... 1000 to 3000 depending on cost.. Does any one know if they make Nickel size tokens? I'd like to get some for my Metalist Nickel machine.. I checked with Fannini Slots where I bought them before but they are out...

Gary, check with Ben (fannini slots). He usually has new 25c & $ size tokens, not sure about nickels.

With the price of metals these days, isn't it cheaper to just use nickels?    The melt value of nickels stands at around 4.5 cents (25% copper and 75% nickel)  but it costs the mint around .10 to mint and distribute a new nickel. I would have to think that buying nickel sized coins would cost more than .05 each?

It was just a thought. Any time I have a machine with coins they slowly vanish.. Kids and change don't mix.

Gary, I just use nickels in my Bally Nugget 873 machine, but thought it would be nice to have gold color tokens to go w/ the theme of machine. With your                         Metalist   you would have to get bronze, silver and gold! Good luck in your search. Maybe the kids would rather have the tokens instead of nickels?

Gary  It's such a simple problem and solution that I'm supprised you didn't think of it.
 
Get a pretty good scales and weigh each Kid when he/her arrives, and then weigh them when they leave.  Me, I wouldn't blame all missing coins on just the Kids.

Buzz.. Don't have that much company around and playing the machines. I know where it all went, two sticky finger kids.. First it was my quarters, now in the past winter I noticed my dimes are low on my old Mills Diamond front. That's why I like my Game King, I-Game. I have large number of credits on each game. I don't need the coins. But I miss playing the older ones too..

Not sure what the size of a quarter is but I could only find .984 & .900 size. Not sure if they make them exact size of a quarter?

I bought some about 2 years ago thru Fannini Slots. I've been making some calls and not finding any here locally. A friend just told me its illegal to make a quarter size token. That why your only finding .900 & .984 size. Has anyone else heard that about the quarter size one before? I know the .984 is just a hair larger then the quarters, but the won't go thru my Imonex quarter coin acceptors. I would have to buy new .984 acceptors..

If you use real Quarters they are always worth .$25.
Tokens are worth?, not much.
Locks will keep little hands away.
I use Ticket in-Ticket out.

Hey, Imonex coin acceptors.  Be sure to remove the magnet from acceptor as most all tokens will be rejected. Also many Imonex are adjustable as to minor coin differences in the size of some foreign coins and tokens. Many imonex were used in arcades with tokens as they rarely jam.

I'm really happy with the Imonex coin acceptors. They don't have all the moving parts like all the others. I do pop out the magnets from them when I install them. I'm still looking for quarter size token if anyone knows where some might be?

Not to hijack the thread, but years ago I bought a couple thousand quarter tokens from Fannini when they first opened in Los Angeles.  After a while I noticed the tokens were slowly disappearing.   I later learned they were disappearing because folks discovered parking meters accepted them as real quarters.

Sounds like the old days using slugs in the local arcades...not that I would have ever taken part in such tomfoolery of course.

I wish I could point the blame on outsiders, but I know right where the quarters went.. It was an inside job. I blame my self for leaving the keys hanging on the pull handle of each machine. If they were keyed the same I could have carried just one key, but I didn't want to mess with hunting for a door key out of a half dozen machines. For the money lost I could of re-keyed a dozen machines the same.. Oh well what's done is done, and if I can't locate any more quarter size tokens I'll convert one or two machines to the .984 size. Just need to pickup a couple .984 Imonex acceptors.

Gary  I've never seen a Imonex acceptor, all these years when I've read about them I thought they were talking about the X 10 made by IDX inc. ( I never had very good luck with the X 10 )
 
Anyway I don't think I've ever seen a acceptor that didn't have a different size shim for what ever size coin you were using. I'm sure you see where I'm going, enough said.
