S2000 ticket printer install
« on: November 10, 2019, 01:38:03 PM »
Having issues installing a ticket printer in a Triple Diamond, 5 line, 5 credit machine. It is completely different from any S2000 I have. It has no netplex power distribution board (usually located in the Center of the upper cabinet on the back wall). It’s connections all come from the plug ins on the lower left and right hand corners of the upper cabinet. The connection on the right hand side has no plug available for the netplex power distribution. Is there some harness that is available to plug the printer into the left hand side of the upper cabinet?

You need a total of 3 harnesses & the dist board itself to install in the top box. Other than that you can install one harness & drop the printer harness into the main cabinet for connection there. The problem with those older cabinets is that the harnesses on the left side interfere with printer installation but that can be worked out.

The previous owner relocated the left side connects down to the lower cabinet so the printer will fit in the top left cabinet. I don’t know what cable would be used or where to plug it in?

I don’t have any place on the right side of top box to plug that into. Am I missing something?

The only thing that plugs in on the right side id the Y shaped harness. Should be a connector there. The 9 pin harness plugs in on the left side where the sound amp power is now. The amp will in turn be powered by the Y harness. The 3rd harness plugs into the printer.

I do not have a connection for the y-type connector. That’s where my confusion comes in

Post a picture. The only time I haven't seen one there is in a early Vision top box. It's a 10 pin connector. Look underneath in the main cabinet to see if it's just been removed from the bracket.

That is a vision cabinet isn't it? Ok lets go with plan B. Surely there's a printer connector in the main cabinet, correct? If not We can go to the MB.

That's a vision speaker on the right. Don't know where the left one is. No place to mount a dist board or a sound amp. Did you find a printer connector in the main cab? I have a harness long enough to go directly to the MB J14 if you need it.

Left speaker was removed to install printer. Can you post a pic of the harness so I can see if I can locate what type of connection I’m searching for in the main cabinet

If it’s a vision what is the proper Mpu?

This isn't a vision cabinet but printer connector should be in the same general area. If there's a harness connected to J14 on the MB then there's a printer harness in there somewhere. J14 is 2nd connector up on the right just above the power connector. MPU depends on the MB. Should have a 960 MB or 500 series MPU if it's original to the machine.
