Anybody know about sentry bezels? Light just flashes blue.

I put a sentry bezel on my SMLD machine and it just flashes blue. The odd thing is the validator works. But bezel just flashes blue. Am I missing a switch or something?

Was it originally configured for an IGT machine?
If it came out of a Bally or another type of machine it needs to be reconfigured.

It was in another avp machine. On a side note it may have come out of a Canadian Casino. How can it be reconfigured?

Ok so I had one more in another machine SAVP. I watched it working. Put it in my MLD machine and Flashing blue light. Validator works. What am I missing?

It's probably a protocol issue.  The smart bezels have really no function other than to display the information passed to it by the validator, so you could have a totally blown smart bezel and the validator still works.  The bezels are highly tied to the firmware on the validator, unfortunately, you cannot flash it without proprietary hardware.  Here's a link to the setup tool:

What is baffling is that IGT AVP should use IDO 24, unless the mld stuff has moved to IDO03?

Good info to know. But here is the odd thing.... If I plug in the sentry the old way like on an s2000 it works fine. But on AVP there is a separate harness connection on the shelf for this. Presumably so you can remove the validator assembly without having to unhook this harness. SO if I plug it in inline on the validator harness on the transport it works fine.  Bur if I plug it in on the harness up on the shelf where it is supposed to plug in I get the blue light.  If I plug it in on the harness on the shelf in my other AVP game it works fine. So something on the harness is the game is amiss. I guess really it doesnt matter to have it plugged inline on the validator like in the S2000. It is working this way so why mess with it really. Just bothers me why it works in the other game but not this game. I know it is getting power through that top harness because it is at least lighting blue and if I remove the validator it goes off.

I would trace the wire on the shelf to see how it is connected.  Maybe a wire got kinked or cut off.

Yeah I thought about that. Didn't know if you have one or not but those wires go into a bigger harness and is like a needle in hay.

AVP machines can use ID028 as well.  The only IGT games we have that even use sentry bezels are the S2000's.  What AVP cabinet are you putting one in?

I am pretty sure this is especially for AVP machines. I attached a picture. It does work but only when plugged inline instead of the auxiliary harness that is on the reel shelf of the machine.
