"Unlinked" IGT AVP Games?

After installing a few IGT AVP games I get the "Unlinked" error.

I assume these games need to be linked to something and cannot be played stand alone?

Is this correct and is there any way around this?

No, it is in the settings.You have to set the thresholds and incrementation then go back and link them.  I can't remember off the top of my head what step is first, hopefully someone else will have it handy. If not I will try to take screenshots.

If the game is showing as “Unlinked” in the menu where games are enabled/disabled you are missing the corresponding GT file for that game.

Hey Nick,

Yes, I have seen that with GC files but I'm also seeing it with GI files like Dakota Thunder GI 014 002 HN1 G001.

Double check your loader.. I see Dakota Thunder as 1BS7.  Are there other games giving you trouble as well?

I have the Dakota Thunder type 1 game you listed also, the one I'm getting the unlinked message is a type 2.

Yes, I have other games here that are GI type games and I'm also getting the unlinked message.

I will play around with it when I get a chance.

I assume you need to link them like you do on a progressive?

Strange... usually if it’s progressive related it will show up as a ‘tilt’ type of error.  Hopefully someone else can chime in that’s run into this.

I have only seen the unliked error when you have a missing GT file, or another game that uses the same gt file does not like to share it.  That is the case with Sizzling 7's and Double Diamond Deluxe.

In progressives I get the progressive tilt.  For linked progressives I get protocol error.

I have 2 versions of Dakota Thunder. 1 works perfectly fine and the other says unlinked. The version that says unlinked is looking for another file. Maybe like a Fort Knox type feature? If its not that, then it maybe a corrupt file that is missing something from the game to load. Just use the other version if you have it.
