Early S2000 Oh no now a problem

Picked up an early S2000 before the bat speakers. Apparently they did not have a tray speaker. I have a tray with speaker in it, but no hookup. I find no wiring for it and no bracket. Right now it has a triple cash game in it. I always get a new machine going on regular platform before getting into Vision platform. Will look great as a Pinball Vision complete with Topper

I have and S2000 with those speakers. Funny how they have the plastic channel to direct the sound through!
I don't remember if mine has a tray speaker or not... I'll have to check.

OK, I did the game change and Pinball was working fine. Then in mid spin got communication error on monitor. Then the VFD comes on saying display passes self test then off, on, off, and on, and off. Makes a little noise while it is going on and off. Never gets past it. Possible in/out card??

Sounds like a short somewhere with the amp in the topbox resetting the game?
I changed my amp but don't use my tray speaker.
Too loud even one "1" volume setting.
Resistors just made it squawky.
Anyways, amp problems reset my machine until I swapped it out with a different one.

Something's wrong with the mpu. Changed it and the VFD is fine , now it's saying reels disconnected when they just spun.  Getting APP start, all 3 reels spin then message "reels disconnected".

Only thing I can think of is the reel board behind the reel tray not getting the right data from SB chip other than a physical disconnection problem.
Changing the reel board would be my next swap.

I thought that board was just for lighting. The reel control plug goes directly to the motherboard. I would check that plug.

And check the pins in the edge sockets on the new MPU, chips are seated well on the board, etc. Check all connections

Is that a 2 or 3 coin Pinball game?
What is the base chip number?

Re-seated reel harness to MB. All good now. I want to power a topper and this style cabinet isn't made for power dist. board or power for it. The MB has a 4 pin square plug called multimedia comm. Will it have 25vdc and 13vdc?

Looks exactly like my Vision, so technically not an S2000.

13vDC should be available to drive the monitor that usually resides in the top of a Vision, not sure about 25vDC. Let me check my docs if I can find them.

Looks like 25vDC might have been an option, here's what I found from the wiring diagram.

This early style Vision doesn't even have a mount for a sound amp or for a power dist. board. Most of these machines have a power harness on the right side of the top box to power the amp. I am sure if this theme had the light ring around the monitor, it would have had the other harness for power 25vdc and 13vdc
