No sound on a IGT Game King/I Game 044 Game

I'm setting up a new board on my Game King and I cannot get the sound to work.

It works fine with the Game King board but when I put the 044 Country Cash board on there is no sound.

I have checked the Diagnostics / Sound Test / Synthesized and Digital sound test set up but no luck.

The player sound setting on the front screen makes no difference.

What I'm I missing?

I have seen this before.  Sometimes the sound hooks don't load in.  Did you try rebooting 1 or 2 times to make sure.  Otherwise the card is bad.

I tried to re-boot once but it did not help.

I will re-install the card and try a few more times.

Also, check to make sure there are no bent pins on those 2 connectors of the card.  They need to be perfectly straight, all lines up.

Just covering the obvious ... make sure you have a DSPL0003 Boot Chip in U32.  Sounds won't work on 044 without it.

Sorry, I think misunderstood ... I thought you were using a legacy adaptor (piggyback) board for Country Cash.  After re-reading, it seem you actually put in a Country Cash 044 memory board.  The DSPL0003 Boot Chip is only for the adaptor board.

Yes, an 044 game board.

I will pick up another processor board/tray and give that a try, I know it's a slim chance but worth a try?

It is a slim chance as you already stated your 044 mpu works.  Problem will be in your 044 flash board as sound derives from it.  Actually your entire game and sound is on the flash board with a boot chip on it.

The boot chip was from a different untested board, any chance that might play into this?

Yes, all straight and there does not seem to be any issues there.

It's probably the card then.  I would try it in another MPU board first just to make sure.

Picked up an additional MPU board and I now have sound.
