I went in today and disabled all of my themes to see if it would free up the NVRAM.  Rebooted the machine and with all themes disabled my NVRAM was at 97.2%.  I went back in and enabled 39 of the themes and it only went up to 97.3%.  Based on this I'm guessing disabling doesn't really do anything and you need to actually remove games from the hard drive to free NVRAM up?

Yes, you actually have to remove the game from the machine.  Disabling it, leaves all it's data intact, like play history, etc.  There's also other misc information  attached to the game that takes some NVRAM.  That is why I remove the game, and not just disable it.

My SMLD currently has 112 games installed on it and the NVRam is 95.6%. The NVRam goes up and down a couple percent on it’s own from time to time. If I want to add another game, I generally remove some games first. Machine runs great and has no issues.

Same here, two SMLD's with over 100 games on each.  NV Ram is always between 97 and 97.8%.  I notice it will build up to around 97.8%, but then it obviously purges itself, as the usage will drop back to 97%.  It never seems to fill up, and get stuffed up.  Two years, and they still run great.  using 97%+ of NV ram seems to work just fine.

So I wiped my cabinet memory, safe storage, and hard drive, installed OS AI014BOC and Gameking 8.3R, and it brought my NDRAM usage down to 64.2%.  Not sure what was causing all of the NDRAM usage, but it looks like that issue was fixed with the reinstall.

Everything is working, but I no longer have the enhanced menu option available for Gameking (I just have the generic menu that has 3 tabs at the top).  I searched through all of the options and I'm guessing the enhanced menu would show up under "Main Menu Styles" on the main menu setup screen, but the only ones there are "Game King" and "Modern".  Any ideas on how to get the enhanced menu (the one with the tabs down the sides) back?

The feature package did not install.

This can still be added.

I should have a file here somewhere with just the feature package.

Joez, did you install the Game King software from manage packages or from a cold boot?

I have found that the features packages don't always install for the game king packages when install through manage packages.

I have not had an issue installing game king from a cold boot.

I installed from Manage Packages.  It installed two feature packages - 0PCGKA-001 and GGA000-006, but I think I installed those separately after the main file (not sure if I did them in order or not).

My procedure for gamekings is as follows.

1.  Wipe everything.
2.  Boot with ekey and os to install OS.  Remove ekey and os installer.
3.  Boot machine and go through the initial setup up process but do not add any games.
4.  Power off, boot machine with ekey 7 and gameking installers and install.
5.  Reboot and you should see your Gameking specific menu available.

Installing gameking through the manage packages doesn't work right.  The above method is the one that has been found by others and myself to work every time.

Following  the process rickhunter listed above worked perfectly.  Everything's set up with plenty of NVRAM to spare.  Thanks to everyone for their input  :hail:
