Super spin sizzling 7's backlit reels

Still working through issues with this game change. I think this is the last of them. Here is what is installed in the machine:
SB101122
SG399
VS011GX1


I have backlit reels but none of them are lighting. I tried 4.10 reel lamp test and still have no lights. Just making sure the chips I have are supposed to light up the reels.

No problem with the chips. Do you have the correct reel harness, I/O harness connected, power to the controller board?

You must plug the harness on the J1 connector. Behind the 4th reel.








And your harness should look like this

Hi all.
Everything is working on this game now except I have no backlights. I have attached a pic of where I have put the plugs. So far I have changed out this board and the mpu with no luck so far.

Just a hunch here, but I recalled having the same issue with the backlights using the LED controller like you have.  I switched to the older style incandescent controller and it fixed the issue.  But later on, I went back to the led controller and it worked as well, though I had changed to SG598's or was it SG597, whichever one is the common one.  I would strong suggest you test each and every light bulb in both the 3 reel assemblies and the 4th reel.  I had all kinds of issues with just 1 bulb not working.

Rick,
You may be on to something with the chips. I took my reels to a friends to try them on her machine. I was able to get them to light up on her phantom (through the lamp test menu). That machine has 363's in it. Would the 363's work with my game?

I thought the same thing the other day, but sadly the PSR for the 363's show that they do support a type 76 game for the super spin.

Sounds like a set of 598's might do the trick?


My current reel board is part 76936300
Would I need board 76924100 or 7692680 to replace it?

The lights are on!
I purchased sg598 chips but that didn't do the trick. Next I purchased the older style 5 reel board and the lights turned on.
Unfortunately it now shows how bad my reel strips are. I have recreated them and I have a sign shop printing new ones I hope to have soon.
Thanks to everyone for their help. My used to be Titanic is now a super spin sizzling 7's
