Doors open and close error.
« on: June 11, 2021, 11:50:44 AM »
My Game King G23 has been working fine for awhile.

Im not sure if this is related but today I added $10 option for 3 games. and enabled autoplay.

Machine was working fine.

Then I put usb stick in empty usb port on brain box and saved a screen shot of a win.

About 2 hrs later the machine started giving door errors.

EVERY single door keeps rolling open and closed.

After a few mins I got a red screen, "eventqueue: queue is full."

I had to turn key to clear memory.

After restart I had to enable my games again.

After doing so and getting back to the main screen the door errors started again.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the ribbon cable not allowing the door status from the backpane to the brainbox.
Re-seat the ribbon cable.

I re-seated the cable, same issue.  Maybe I should get a replacement cable?

I had that happen a few times and gently tapped on the back of the connector on the cable.  The connector is whats called a Insulation Displacement Connector and being to small and fine the teeth that bite in to the wire can get loose connections.
Take it out, set it on a table and gently tap with something flat.

Ok so new update.

If I trick the machine into thinking the main door is shut by holding the 2 door switches, the machine works fine.

If I then actually close the door all the way, I get the none stop opening and closing of ALL the doors.

If I close the main door just enough to trigger the door switch so I knows it's closed, the machine works fine.

But if I fully shut the main door I get the errors.

Any ideas?

New update:

I think I solved the issue.  It seems that the cash box door bypass wire was touching the back of the door and the machine was locking up because it was detecting something weird.  The tip of the wire had an exposed contact.  After moving the wire completely away from the door the machine is working great.

I will mark the topic solved in a few days if I no longer get the issue.

Thanks to everyone who provided tips.
