Payout Wiper Reset Stop Cushion - Repair

One problem in making adjustments on the payout hopper is the Stop cushion when the payout wiper resets. The rubber stop gets all gooey or it completely worn down. This makes it hard to get the adjustment correct.

I bought 5/16" rubber cord from Amazon and cut a piece to fit into the holder. I drilled a hole in the center with a 29 bit to allow for the threaded screw to screw into it. About 1/8" should stick outside the holder. You can adjust the the screw back to give you more adjustment. This can be done without taking the unit apart; just advance the payout disc wiper a few steps and with a pair of needle nose pliers to hold on to the mounting block take the screws out and lift it out. Advancing the payout disc wiper prevents the the disc wiper from unwinding. If you find that the 1/8" below the holder has made it so you can't move it up far enough, you can just use a razor blade and trim it down some.

I don't know if this has been addressed before but I thought I would pass it on since it has been a help to me in making repairs

Thanks for this tech tip. I have some rubber bumpers that I trimmed to fit and drilled the hole. Other people Use a pencil eraser. I have found those to be too soft and wear out easily. How much did this cost, and how long is the piece of rubber you bought? If you could post a link, that would also be helpful to people.

Done the same in the past with thick wall 1/4 inch vacuum tube.
Cut to 1/4 inch length, works perfect.
