5 reel triple double can't clear messages
« on: October 16, 2014, 07:38:06 PM »
I have the following messages.  coin-in jam, call attendant, closure M.  I checked the 3.6v battery and it test fine,  I replaced the small coin cell battery because voltage was low.  I did a ram clear, used the set chip to access key config to now find out none of the buttons work either so I can not make any program changes.

I tried anther MPU with the piggyback board from a working machine, but still is not working?

Thanks Gary

Check the door I/O cards and be sure the door optics are aligned.

which card controls the door I/O?  I can't get to [accounting] by pressing the buttons, but service and cash out light up, but don't work so I can not test the door i/o

A five reel machine has two I/O cards on the door one up front and one at a 45 degree angle that is a pain to get out. Should be an 801 and a 802 or possibly two 802s.

Is it set up for coinless? If so check the jumper for where the coin comparator was.

I tried a new plug there also.  I think the other guy might be right about the I/O board.  I am going to try that tonight.

Coin-In Jam on a coinless machine is from a faulty, or even just loose, DOOR I/O. Coin Out Jam is from CAINET I/O.

Swap your door I/O.

S2000 5 reel machines must have matched door I/O they have to be the 802, also labeled 1921A on the metal carrier
this applies to the 50x and early 1270 mpu's

The later 1270 enhanced boards must use the enhanced I/O boards.

I recently got that series of errors, it wound up being an I/O card, the one with the short connector.  I was also getting a meters disconnected error.

Foster You are all wet on this one when you say you MUST have two 802 IOs on a 10 button 5 reel S2000 machine. I only have two 5 reel machines and both of them have one each 801 and a 802 IOs. The 801 is installed closest to the belly glass and the short harness from the top plug goes to the 9 line display. the 802 is installed in the holder closest to the reels and the top plug goes into the cabinet next to # 1 reel

As I recall when I turned a 3 reel machine into a 5 reel machine and installed a 10 button deck I could have installed  either one of the IO holders on either side of the inner door panel, I used the other machine for a pattern I might add the other machine was one I bought from Kirk and I don't know for a fact that Kirk didn't change a button deck and installed the IOs the same way IGT did. I do know both machines work and I also know I don't care which side of the inner door panel which IO is installed.

All I know is that I received two 802's and tired both combinations possible with a 801 back in July.
It did not work.

Just tried it again and it worked this time.
I didnt do anything back then what I just did now
