Ballys 1096 Voltage Question

I'm replacing the fluorescent lights with LEDs in my sister's Bally's 1096 . I'm curious if there is 12V DC available anywher on this machine that I could tap into? If not what would the best location be to tap into 110V AC where I'll put a AC/DC converter for the LEDs

depends where you stick the transformer.  The easiest options are the transformer lugs or the ballast/socket wires.

I had thought of that. I'm curious as to why that wire is such a thin gauge.

The wire gauge is calculated based on amp draw. An even easier way to change over to LED tubes is to use plug and play. I prefer this option because EMs run better when warm and the ballast is a good source of heat.
