S+ Lighting
« on: October 25, 2014, 09:58:42 AM »
So we just came into a couple of S+ machines (our first) the other day.  My wife was complaining about the heat they put out and wanted me to put a fan in the room.  But in thinking of a more complicated fix, it seems a significant amount of heat is coming from the fluorescent tubes - so can you all think of any reason I couldn't remove the fluorescents and replace with something like LED lighting strips instead?

BTW... new to here but in scouring through this forum it has been very enlightening.  Thanks!!

Kiesub Electronics in Las Vegas was doing a lot of LED replacements for incandescent lamps in gaming machines, they may still be doing it.

Also there is a LED replacement for tube type florescent lighting, Google a search for them and they will pop up.

Not cheap though, a fan would be less expensive.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

Wow! Those would be expensive to replace the fluorescent tubes in kind with LED. A fan would be cheaper but not nearly as fun. I'll have to ponder it.

Perhaps I wil not use the fluroscent assembly at all and just put LED lighting in with a separate powersource. Heck maybe I could get some color changing LEDs for the reel glass.

Thanks!
