Double Diamond S+ BV problem

Ive got my double diamond running with quarters but BV not taking bills. it takes in a bill rather slowly at 1/8 inch increments. after half the bill is sucked in it ejects it at the normal speed. maybe dirty sensors maybe a loose cable. my game chip is an sp809. BV turned on and denomination successfully set to .25 with chip. would love to get validator going for at least 1 dollar bills. Thanks, Al

Since this is a new thread it would be best if you mentioned what model bill validator you have and any details that could be helpful to your question. Not everyone will know about or want to read the other threads to dig out the info that may have been posted earlier.

If you think it might be dirty then give cleaning a try.

I just read the long post and how Riffkid77 solved his problem. Im gonna try the bill validator test "1,2,3.8 on" then 8 off. some notes though. BV does not even cycle when machine first turns on. never saw front light on, Ever!! checked it and it is good "swapped bulb with known good". starting to a think something is not setting straight. cash door switch clicks smoothly. I feel some switch is not engaging. gonna take it apart soon. I think Riffkid77 and I have the same BV. its not like what you guys have but the tests you suggested to him works the same. hope I can follow his lead and get some results. thanks guys.
