S+ coin in problem, doesn’t always count the coin

I’m working on a S+.. Owner said it stopped taking coins. I found the screws all loose holding the coin in brackets. Even had one missing. Tightened and replaced the screws. Next I cleaned the coin optics and comparitor. Put it all together and it takes coins, but every once and a while it doesn’t count a coin. It falls into the hopper. I decided to swap out the whole coin comparitor mounting bracket and coin optics, with one I had for a spare, even changed the coin handling wiring harness except the pig tail for the comparitor. After reassembled and played I noticed it still has the same problem. I also noticed that at times when I insert the 2 coins, there is a delay of about 1-2 seconds before they register in the display? I am not sure what to check next? These machines don’t have IO boards, everything done through the. MPU Board. The power supply plug on the mother boards not burnt either.. What am I missing??

The one time I had this problem it was the optic spacer
A dollar spacer will allow a quarter to slide by

Forgot to mention that I did check that. It was the first thing that crossed my mind, but this game has the correct quarter guide. Heck I even tried a different one, same problem? What are the chances that I have two coin optics doing the same thing? I think slim to none..

Well it looks like I could be wrong. I was just given an old thread to read by my friend Sunrise Slots. I did as this old thread suggested and it cured my coin in problem. Thanks Tim.
