This may have to be moved, not sure.

Got my igt splus working, but my Mei bv zt1101 us won't even try to take bills.  Looks like someone replaced the zt.head cause the 3 head harness is a bit strange.  The first two wire power fits fine, and the head lights up.  The second set that has like 5 wires fit fine (comms back to slot i believe), but the third set that should have four has three, and it's a different type of plug it.  They jammed the head in, seating in two of the three into the four pins.

I believe that third set is the the bezel light up, it doesnt light up. I suspect that third set doesn't have to even be in, as it just controls the bezel light on the cabinet door?  Or is that what's killing me there?

Basically I turn the machine on, it goes through a quick possible rack and stack movement, it's short, and the interior acceptor lights are on.  After that, it won't try to take a bill at all.

I jumped the two.middle pins and got it into test mode, it'll pull in the big and spit it out successfully.  In calibration mode, it'll halfway take a bill bit I don't have calbration paper.  I read that after some operatorions I have to recalibrate or it won't work. I was forced to do a ram clear, and I used the BV chip to reset it back to on, ie 9-1. Could that be the problem, ram clear, and does someone have CAL paper?  Or is that just a function that enhances the operation of reading the bill, and it should at least still try???

Or is it that my zt1101 isn't flashed and ready for a igt splus? How do I tell???

So many questions.  My dip switches are all on. The unit has power, I just want the little guy to try.  Help him try?  He just wants to live out his life's purpose, sucking in monies!

Could have sworn I read in a post by Jim that you can flash the Mei zt1101 to an igt splus, with something like an Id 0024, course I don't know how to flash the Mei, don't know how to check it, and am jjust going off memory in that post haha.  So you definitely could be right!

What i think is really weird is that it's own working harness doesn't fit it's plugs.  I'll have to take a pic

So anyone know absolutely if that's the answer? Can a Mei zt1101 us be used in an igt splus?

Is there a possible head drop in replacement?

Alright so reading the manual closer, the zt1101 is for "silicon gaming" machines, whereas the zt1102 us is for "igt pulse" machines, ido22 and ido23 and the zt1102 usn is for "igt netplex" machines, ido24.

So what is an ido, what category is the igt splus in? And does anyone have one if these shitball heads that I can pick up for a dollar so I can see if this dumb thing will take small head bills? I'll trade ya?

.......So what is an ido, what category is the igt splus in? .......

What is commonly called the "IDO" is the communication protocol (interface method) that a slot machine mpu board uses to "talk" to the bill validator. The companies that make bill validators (JCM, MEI, etc) create the software that is inside the bill validator so that it will work with a specific model of slot machine. Since there are many different slot machine companies with many different models thru the years there are many different comm methods. So these methods (protocols) are numbered to tell them apart. For example, ID-023 is used on some IGT machines but other IGT machines use ID-024 or ID-022. I think people got to calling this "IDO" because the first digit in the protocol has always been a "0" (zero) and they thought it was an "O" when they looked at the stickers on bill validators.

The SP chip that is in your IGT S+ machine will determine what ID protocol the machine uses. Find out what your SP chip number is, then look at the SP document.

I don't know anything about the zt1101 but it sounds like they can be frustrating.   :garfield:

the zt1102 us is for "igt pulse" machines, ido22 and ido23

^^^ That's what you need for your S+.  S+ (and PE+) uses either ID-022 or ID-023, depending on the chips in use.

Anyone have one of those heads? If like to just drop one in without a full reconfigure, otherwise I'll just sell this slot as is.
