You cannot change the payout settings of an S+ machine via any of the option settings within the machine. The payout odds reside on the "SS" (REEL) chip. To change the payout to a "looser" paytable, you will need to replace the SS chip with a more favorable chip. Note that payout odds are calculated over hundreds of thousands to millions of spins. The change between a 95% payback chip and a 99% payback chip, for example, will not necessarily be very obvious to you over the course of dozens or even hundreds of spins.
All that said, if you want to upgrade to a better chip, you'll need to start by figuring out what chip you have in your machine. You'll need to identify the SS chip number, either by looking at the label on the chip (always ensure the machine is powered OFF when removing or inserting the removable MPU processor board), or by following the directions from the following FAQ to use the Self Test button to have the machine display the SS chip number installed:
http://www.newlifegames.net/spset/SPSS.htmOnce you have figured out what SS chip number you have, the next step is to identify if there are better ("looser") chips available for your machine. The IGT S+ bible here on the site will be helpful for that.
Based on
your previous thread, you have a 3CM (3 coin multiplier) Cartoon Wild Cherry machine. To find the available chips for your machine, go to the IGT S+ bible, here:
http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible .
Click on the "3CM" navigation at the top of the page (as you have a 3-coin max bet setup), and then click on the "Cartoon Wild Cherry" link to see the available programs for your machine. You should be able to find your SS number listed somewhere on there, and compare it to the other available programs.
The next step would be to post a WTB ("Want To Buy") ad here on the site to find a member or vendor who can sell you a replacement SS chip for your machine. Swap out the chips, clear any errors (
here is a list of common errors and resolutions), and you'll be in business.
