Machine stuck in 61 loop.
« on: January 31, 2022, 05:55:56 PM »
I bought this machine with very little knowledge of what was wrong. Guy said he changed battery now stuck in 61 loop.  I performed clear and moved on to BV/set denomination procedures.  I turned off machine, swapped chips, installed board, turned machine back on.

First thing is to turn off machine pull the cmos chip for 10 seconds and replace it but be careful not to bend a prong or turn the chip upside down.
Report after that

The chip that's in the 28-pin socket NEXT to the GAME prom or SP chip (if that's what it says on the label).

Look on the circuit board itself, the words REEL PROM, GAME PROM, and CMOS may be etched onto the MPU board at the long end of the sockets.

You need  to remove the SP chip and replace it with a set chip now to enable the BV and set denom.

It really sounds like your Clear or SET015 chips are not working right?  :Scratch-Head:

When you do the clear procedure, what numbers do you see when it is finished clearing? :sherlock:

Run the Clear procedure again....FORGET about enabling your bill validator for now....just get the machine running like it should.

From what you're telling us, it is NOT clear that any of your chips are working right.

When we get it going good, THEN run the SET015 chip to set the denomination value and enable the DBV.

What SP/SS chips do you have installed? :scratch-head_2:  :Please_Post_Pictures_2:

Ok when i perform the ram clear these are the steps and the results:
1.  Remove sp chip (sp731), install the ran clear chi and reinstall board
2.  Turn on machine, hear ding.
3.  Push reel spin and the digital read out spits random numbers climbing to 2 in winners paid and 999 in the credits.
4.  I turn machine off, remove board and swap back to the sp chip (sp731) and reinstall board
5.  Turn machine back on and front display reads 61.  I push test button and now turns to 61

Hold the test button in a little longer...like 3 seconds...you should get to 61-1.
At that point, close the door, turn the jackpot reset key and your machine should be back in business.

NOW, you can put in the SET015 chip and set the denomination & enable the DBV.

If you hold the test button button a little longer, will it go to [61-1]?

I can go through all of the rest of the clear procedures ending with the reset.  Reel spins, 25c lit, add coins lit, 0 in the coins played.  Will not take coins.  I shutdown and start the procedures for bv/ denom, swap chip
Fire up machine.  Where I should get a 0 in the credits played I get nothing in any windows and can’t proceed

What you are saying is that you run the SET015 chip procedure and then your reel glass display panel goes blank afterwards?

What chips do you have installed?

The photo shows your SET chip in the SP GAME socket.

What SP chip are you using after you remove the SET chip?
