How is it US?
« on: August 03, 2018, 12:04:06 PM »
I live in Sweden and I love my 6 Bally EM I have. I bought my first 1985 when I was 22yo.
I saw the discussion abot Bally 1113 and the price of 300-500 dollar. Can you allways buy a Bally EM for that price in US?
In Sweden you have yo pay 5-10000 SEK (600-1100 dollars). For a working Bally EM.

How is the law about to have your slots at home in US? Before in Sweden you have to search and pay for it (but nobody did that).

Here is a good article about private slot machine ownership in the USA. It varies, depends on the law in each US state. And those laws sometimes change as time goes by. A few states prohibit any machine from being owned, in others it is allowed if they are a certain numbers of years old. And in some states it is completely lawful to own any slot machine. Most legitimate USA businesses that sell slot machines will not sell or ship one to you if you live in a state where it is prohibited, the business can be fined or lose their license to sell slot machines.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_state_slot_machine_ownership_regulations

Prices on machines here are probably lower because there are more of them readily available. The places you have that sell machines may have imported them from USA and they could have big shipping costs. Or the prices may be higher there because there aren't that many machines available.

Thank you very much for your answer! I saw that it is only about 5-6 states that it's not allowed to have our Machines, often from 1968-1975.
I understand that you must have  a lot of more Machines in US because Bally i a US Company. (The greatest in the World in my eyes! :-) )

I been in US 2 times and I really love your country! I have always been treated well of all people I met there!

Glad that you have been here and enjoyed it! I love spending time with visitors from other countries, and I think most Americans are friendly like that (of course there are always some that are unfriendly but that is few).

Maybe on your next visit here you can play some Bally machines in one of our casinos, or even buy one and take it back with you!   :odie:

In many ways the US is a very prudish and conservative country. This is indicated by attitudes toward  gambling. The way I see it, there are many groups who oppose gambling (usually religious based), as seen in the varying laws in different states. Some such as Indiana prohibit all slot machines, while some, like California, limit legal use to machines 25 years or older. Then there are the more “progressive”  states like Ohio and especially Nevada, where all slot machines are legal, regardless of age.
We are a curious country of conflicting views and attitudes!
