my savp will let me play the machine with all doors open, except the cash can.

i am trying to swap out games, but the machine doesnt let me into the programming because the doors are closed, even tho they are opened

new brainbox battery, 2 new pci card batteries, new backplane battery installed.

[size=78%] input/output diagnostics shows all doors switches closed, and cannot be unchecked[/size]

any suggestions to remove the bypasses?

Looks like you can get into the brain box door where the toggle switch or jumper is?. Your machine is locked up. you cannot play anything with doors open. It would be nice if the moderators on these topics would help more as I was booted out on all this because of a rude person here. I have no idea what you have --a 2.5 or 3.0 brain box etc. You have to give more info if you want help. Also make sure you have a e-key 7 and a diagnostic -you will get no where without those.

brain box is a 3.0...i have both ekey7 and diagnostic

when i got the machine 2 weeks ago, i was playing the it...even with the doors open.

when i decided to change games tonight, i switched the software, cleared the hd because of os change

we have installed game and os, but it wont let us to enable it

now, its not allowing me to enable because it is showing all doors closed, even tho, they are not.

ive checked the drop door box in the back, unplugged it....checked the jumper next to the brainbox, pulled all switches, closed all doors...still the same

doors open.

Has to see the belly door open and the center/main would be useful also. On the bottom(belly) there is a cherry switch and opto. On the center main there is a opto and cherry. see if the cherry switches are there. There is a cherry switch on left lower brain box that I would normally bypass as it's just for security on the brain box that a metal cover originally covered. The brain box has a dip switch with a rubber/roller dip switch on it. Some people wad something up on that and shove it in there instead of doing it correctly with the boom a rang latch. Also On these you can look at the optos, the switches while doing live work and monitoring the switch positions. Make sure to be careful and not ground out any wires while using this method.

My bet is the backplane has a short making all the switches "closed' do you have another backplane you can test it with?

Rick, Sounds more like a pci card to me?. We do not have enough info on this.

ive pulled and pushed all cherry switches...the switch that is down where i put the ekey and diagnostic has the boom a rang lock, which seems to be working...there is not a wad of anything in there...the machine thinks the doors are closed...not opened...the machine was playing perfect with the original game in it

it was when i swapped out the os, installer and stuff that i realized that i should not have done it because of the switches.

i dont have another brain box, or pci card or backplane

would a phone call be better than this?

What game did you install?. That may answer some questions. You should have the red screens of death at this point-or did it let you twist the key?. your os and boots have a LOT to do with it also--look at what was old and working and look and document what you injected into it.

changed bios, installed 5 line wild 7 with free games....replaced 1 line double diamond 3 4 5

game is there...screen says "no game enabled"

did have the red screen, was able to key flick thru it

again, with the diagnostic screen, it shows all door switches closed,

when i put the ekey in, it will not bring up the normal menu

What os and boot 1/2 are you using now?. Also---WHY did you change bios and os? You already had a 3.0 box to start with?. Again you are being vague about what you have done. We all know about the "special" boot chips out there. Just trying to help.

Were you using this Exact brain box and software prior to these problems?. You have to do all 3 wipes on the diag./key 7 . OR did you switch from 2.5 to 3.0 brain and having these problems. A word of advice a 2.0 pci red card will not and does not like 3.0 boxes. See if you can reverse what you did and see if it works before you tried all this. It's normally easy to do on good machines with the proper items in them.

i had no clue it was gonna be this hard to swap a game out lol

no hardware was changed...exact same brainbox, pci card

all 3 wipeable sections were wiped *nvram, cabinet, and hard drive *i think thats what all 3 are called*

game is installed, just ready to be turned on with the software but with the doors "closed" to the computer, its not allowing me to activate it

will have to wait a few days before i can install a different backplane...

ill respond back after i get it installed

Yes I agree, Good luck but I highly doubt that a back plane blew out from that but it's possible I guess. Nothing more to add to this. One more thing -did you make sure after you loaded all the software etc. that you put the dip switch or jumper as the screen calls it back?. Processor shows open.

You can't enable game because the game things all switches are closed. Until you get the switches to open up, you are not going to be able to go further.

exactly...i just dont think it igt would have put some type of bypass procedure or process on to a slot machine, but thats what it is looking like...would be very unsafe for a tech to know that could be done, working in a casino.

any other guesses or info would be very helpful...specially if i dont have to swap backplanes! lol

here is today's update....

replaced the backplane and the power supply between the cpu and printer

each one still giving me the exact same issue...all doors closed...

any other suggestions would be very grateful!!!

Do you have another one of those ribbon cables? I would try that one next.

took the cable from my other machine and put on this one....still no change...grrrrrrr

The MPU is the only thing left, the PCI card with the bios chip on it is the interface point between the cpu and the cabinet, so you may want to try just that one.
