19" I-Game Touchscreen Inop Upon Start Up.
« on: March 01, 2021, 06:08:14 PM »
Hello all,

Didn't know if I should post this here or in the LCD section, but I'll go ahead and start it here.

I've got a 19" I-Game with an 044 Processor. When I first turn on the machine, the touchscreen is completely inop, but does not produce any errors.

If I perform the Touchscreen Calibration, it passes and everything works as it should. But never before that.

I'm guessing that it is a TS Controller issue, but wanted some other opinions before I order one.

It just doesn't make sense why it won't start when the machine starts, but works perfectly after initiating the calibration mode. It's not touchy, or flakey at all and never fails as long as the game is powered up, and I've left it on for several days at a time with no issues.

I don't think it's temperature related because I can turn the game off hot, turn it right back on and no touch function.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Curtis ash100

I don't know but I know computers....it sounds like it's missing a start-up command from a setting or software.

Update,

Changed out the Touch Controller and all is well.

Not sure why or from where it was losing the signal to initialize upon startup, must be something on that Controller Board that's gone bad.

But, topic solved, machine works as advertised now.

Good job swapping out components to get to the source of the problem.
Some IC component on that TS board retains initializing programming...
My guess that the only way to repair it is to try to find some schematics of it and try to find the bad component.
I'm not sure who are the wizards of board repair but I'm sure it's just a minor fix.

Could we see a photo of it when you get a chance?
