dbv 200 upgrade not working
« on: April 07, 2023, 10:04:35 AM »
new to the forum, first post.   I have a igt s2000+ that had a dbv 145 i sent the power supply and dbv head and transport to Alan @ k-lar He recapped? the power supply and changed the head to a dbv 200 it was tested at his shop and worked. the head powers up and runs through some sort of start cycle red leds come on but will not pull a bill in.  Here is what we have gone through so far . the door switch for the cash can is jumped. Transport and head were tested by Alan. The stacker mechanism has been cleaned and lubed. i did the denomination set chip reset(couple times). he sent a diagram of the back plane board to see where the valaditor is plugged in.(that all looked correct). cash box is well seated and meshing with stacker gears. all 15 dim switches on head are off. A few things about the machine That im not sure if they matter. The (this machine accepts bills) icon above the bill slot is not lighting up the bulbs are good. And the pull handle is stuck in the down position but still spins wheels when pulled completely. This post is no way reflecting any dissatisfaction with Alan @K-LAR just a little hard to connect on the phone, and i have been in and out on fishing trips more and more as spring is emerging.  Sorry this is so long but just trying to go through what has been tried.  Thanks for any ideas.

The dbv 145 worked for several years prior. all other functions on the machine work. The battery on the main board was replaced some years ago. Wild cherry .25 c

You have an S+ machine NOT an S2000+(no such thing). You say you set the denom a few times, did you also enable the BV?

If the bezel on the validator is not lighting up then my conjecture is that its not activated.

When changing out the DBV145 to a DBV200 the power supplies look almost identical and the electrical connector is the same.
The 200 power supply has venting fins while the 145 supply does not.

The 145 power supply however doesn't have sufficient amps to reliably work the 200 head.
SOooo if you have not changed power supplies, please do so and then try the SET procedure again.
You can also find a similar set procedure on the bottom right of our home page under RICKs FAQs
