Bally Alpha 2 Error... Anyone seen this one before ?

This is a new one for me...  Machine actually boots up to  and shows the game screen  with this error:   Door Monitor Battery Fail

? Back Plane Battery   or  ?

I looked at this earlier and got with a smart member here and think He contacted you.  I was interested as well but It should be the backplane battery causing error, Know game is not in front of you.  On A-2 prob. will require to be set up again after batt. swap-know A-1 does it but try and see if the key cycle will do it without the clear/re-set-up.

Problem Solved.   The  "monitor"  wording was throwing me off.   (backplane 2032 bat.)

Yep. Battery on the A2 backplane gives you that error.


FYI: It is called a "Door Monitor" battery because it tracks all of the door interlock openings and closings for book keeping logs (besides many other things). Casinos want the option of knowing what door was opened at what time, etc. Also good for troubling shooting if you get a machine that has intermittent flashing of "call attendant" while a customer is playing due to a misadjusted door actuator or lock mech. Booking tells you which door switch could be the culprit.
