cant get a burned vs011gx1 to work

i tried to back up my vs011gx1 chip, just in case during testing another board i bend or break off a leg. i used a 27c010 eprom . when i verify the burned chip, it passes, and the checksums are the same. still, the board wont work with the burned chip, only the original. am i doing something wrong?

What is the speed of the EPROM you're using?  Think they need to be 120ns or faster to work in S2000.

Otherwise try with a 27C1001. This is the one I use for my tests, and as Tilt said, 120ns or faster.

my chips were 100's. i had some 27c020 that were 150's , so i doubled up the image and burned to a 020. it works now

100's are faster than 150's.  It is strange that it wouldn't work.  Eproms are measured in access times in nanoseconds, the lower the number, the faster the chip.
