Well mine was missing the ribbon cable.. I got one from my Cleopatra... Can anyone take a picture of the lower section so I can see what wires should be there...   I think were getting warmer...

Unless you have a TITO system, the only other one going to the Comm board is a 7 pin black connector with a few gray wires in it.
it is upper right of the ribbon connection or LED pn the front of the comm board.

And that is what I see.  The ribbon cable to the board next to it,  and the gray and black 7 pin cable going to the  vision display.  The only other wires I see going into the lower box are the what I believe is power from the power supply.  We kinda need that.

I guess it's my software.

Like I said my DDR Vision has SB000931 1 & 2 and SG000621. contact coorslight or tollguy316. When the game starts booting it shows ATA , BGM, ETC. What are the numbers. There are a thousand dot's with them.

Well that's not whats in my game.  I just posted a video of my DDR booting... Maybe someone may have an idea what its doing...
<a href="http://youtu.be/3onLjl2Omx8" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://youtu.be/3onLjl2Omx8</a>

And the upper screen :
<a href="http://youtu.be/LAD0lgMKbus" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://youtu.be/LAD0lgMKbus</a>

I stopped the video since it doesn't go any father from the last point in the video.

The screen you show has never appeared on any of my 8 vision machines. They start with initialisingSince the game you have was NOT a vision then the chips must be different. 248 and 380 mains are popular with vision.

Well good thing after getting a different set of chips for the game.. I can now see the upper screen.   but I'm getting a 'protocol mismatch'  I'm thinking I have still the wrong chip somewhere...I'm getting soooo close... I do thank everyone who has helped out with my project!

Something wrong between the chip and ATA card. What ATA, BGM #'s do you have? What chip #'s did you get?

have you switched around version chips? Mine has vs011gx1. I will check my card to see what is on it. The protocol has something to do with the chip and card not being right for each other. Maybe send Jim at blueridge a message. He knows everything.

Now who has them is the next question... I got a set Jim not too long ago... with the sb000440... got a lot farther.. was able to play a game!   but it crashed with "symbol error' when I get the bonus game.  now I think were on the right track.

Foster, Is reel touch the same as Vision? The chips in my DDR Vision are SB000931, SG000621, VERSION VS011GX1  for a 45 credit game 9 lines 5 reel. My ATA10065 and BGM00160 on the data card. Some of the games I have converted themes in have SB000248 or SB000380 which seem to support vision well.

From my understanding vision and reel touch are different top box computers
Came out before 2000, I have seen them in casinos in 2001

Might have been earlier just don't remember

vision you cant touch the LCD monitor.

I believe the reel touch was designed with a touch screen LCD for the bonus games.

Also reel touch shows computer generated version of the physical reels for some themes

I believe Reel Touch is all Embedded XP. and vision is an earlier embedded windows.

I think the data card having BGM00125 is not getting along with the SG621's. Thus the protocol. I disconnected a few things and got the protocol message, opened door and closed it then it reset and worked again. It is very difficult to recreate some of the errors people get.

I would not mind building up a vision or reel touch just for experience doing and figuring out what can cause issues

My vision ready (still using its cabinet and main door parts) has been to changed to S2000 parts, It had a perpetual Coin in Jam when I first got it in early 2007.

it had the coin in jam turned it off after trying to get the error to clear over a weeks time.
Turned it on, opened and closed the door a few times and it finally cleared and was ready to play.

I think some of these errors could be attributed to how well we seat the mpu into the motherboard when re-inserting after checking things
Also I have found out be careful with legacy or R boards when placing them on the MPU.

I was able to get updated software for my flash card.  And now the game works great.   I still gotta reconfigure it since its a hopperless and coinless setup.

BGM000160 & ATA10065 fixed my issue.  And that's using software SB000440 with SG000120 for u19&u46.

Thank you to everyone with your advice and help... Major kudos to Jim for a nice long phone call explaining the file system and different revisions... granted he was a little rusty,  he gave me the information I needed.   And kudos to Coorslight for the missing files I needed.  Round of beers for everyone!  If I ever see you in real life!

Next game to convert Cleopatra.... Now who has a upper glass ;)  I have a space vision screen.
