Help identify this part
« on: May 02, 2017, 10:16:14 AM »

I have these in static bags with all the harness, they were in S2000 machines I bought. Are they some kind of amplifier? Are they worth anything?
thanks
jeff

Looks like a Bally audio (sound) amp, probably to boost sound from speakers in the machine.

Writing on the front of the amp says "Bally", are you sure they were inside S2000 machines?

They may have been connected to the 2 speakers on the S2000 above the main door, to give a louder experience to the player.

Looks more like it was to provide audio output for marketing via the player tracking.  Our machines have that, though it's a different board.  Splices into the speaker wiring so it would simultaneously provide game audio and player tracking audio.

Ha!  A louder experience on a S2000??  Have you ever turned the volume to 10?  At least in my experience, a setting of 10 for volume on a S2000 could kill elderly people...

I sat in a Micheal Jackson machine with them headrest speakers by the side of my head.
I was not comfortable hearing "Beat It" in 200 decibels  :rotfl:

well, I was referring to playing the machine in a casino since the OP mentioned the audio amps were installed in machines he had recently purchased. Some casinos set the machine sound level quite high due to all the other noise going on around the player. In a home or office setting the volume level would of course be much too loud.
