Early S2000 speakers ?
« on: March 05, 2018, 11:23:53 AM »
I never seen a S2000 with these speakers. Was it a cruise ship design or just early model design? This machine has a 501 MPU and has a Ascending sound choice which sounds  kind of  cool.

Yes, but I am having problems using pics from my phone even with the lowest resolution they are 1.5 meg. I will try again when I get this pic size thing figured out.

Do as I do. You might have to crop your picture size down. I've learned to backup and have the item smaller in my pic, then crop the item to what you want in your pic. Usually then I can post pictures.

This new Samsung S7 does not have any image reducing tools unless you send it by email, is what I had to do. They take tools away so you have to get apps that load you down with Ad's.

Yes, but I am having problems using pics from my phone even with the lowest resolution they are 1.5 meg. I will try again when I get this pic size thing figured out.

You can upload your photos of any size to a free photo hosting site like the ones listed below. Then you only have to post a link to the photo in your NLG post, so that ends the problems of attaching photos that are too large. It works really well for me and has the side benefit of not storing the actual photo on the NLG server, so doesn't take up any NLG server space. The first photo hosting site (postimages.org) listed below will even change the size of the photo for you. They promise to store the photo forever, we'll see. But in the mean time it sure gets around the problem like you are having where modern phones and cameras can create overly huge photo file sizes.

You have to spend a little time learning how it works, but easy for anyone that can repair a slot machine.   :garfield:

Of these 2 sites I like the postimages better. It is easier to use, faster, and lets you change the size of the photo.

Here's an example of a photo done this way that is a little over 4 mbyte in size, which is 4 times larger than the NLG attachment limit of 1 mb. Photos done this way can still be copied by others, same as an attached photo.

The only problem with that is if you leave NLG all of the pictures will disappear also, not a problem with WTBs but if you are posting how to do pictures that will become an issue as any pictures will just be blank icons

Not sure I follow that. Do you mean if I'm not logged in to NLG then the photo link in my postings isn't displayed for others to view? I just logged out and came back to NLG site as a guest (lurker) and was able to read my post above and see the image. For people that leave NLG for whatever reason (death, resign, booted, etc) I don't think their old posts are deleted.

I think those blank photo icons we sometimes see are due to broken links to the photo, either because the photo has been deleted wherever it was stored or because the site storing the photo has gone offline or changed it's web url. This happens a lot to youtube videos because they reorganize their website and links no longer work. Plus people close their youtube accounts and the videos in them are no longer avail.

No if you change clouds or where you normally use your NLG from. The photos will disappear.

So if I post a photo from my home computer like I did above, then I go to the library and I post a message on NLG from the library computer and link to another photo something will disappear? Can you explain further, I'd like to know more about this?  How would my photos disappear, under what circumstance? Like if I bought a new smartphone and changed my provider?

The photo hosting site (postimages.org) above is a public site, I don't have an account with them. So there is no account that would be closed. I don't even login to their site.

PM me if you think that is better, but actually this info is in the interest of everyone here so maybe public explanation is better.

You may be correct but I remember going into a few older posts and that if the poster had changed his email account the pictures would also disappear.  Maybe not so on a cloud.
