BB2 running BB1 village people party?
« on: April 18, 2018, 11:03:31 AM »
I'm looking to purchase a bb1 cpu so that I can play the older version of Village People Party.
Does anybody know how my bb2 cabinet will react? Will the upper display just be black? And the game will be square (sd)?

It should just be as simple as switching out the cpu I'm assuming.

The original version used D1.3 (SSOS) software so yes, you would need the NXT-1 CPU.  The NXT-1 does not have an upper monitor connection so the upper screen would be blank.  You could hook a media player up to the top monitor and display any image you wanted to.

The lower image will be slightly stretched with the 22" monitor.  I do run an NXT-1 CPU on my BB2 for older SSOS games and to be honest if you didn't know the image was stretched you would not notice.

Some of the games have been updated with newer software to play on the BB2's, maybe check with Blue Ridge Slots to see if Jim has ever seen updated software (SSSG) for Village People Party?

Also keep in mind you will need a standard button deck, BB1 games do not work with an OLED button deck.

Yep I've got the standard deck. I'm also anticipating needing a monitor dvi/vga cable.
I've just gotta find a decently priced bb1 cpu then I'll be off to the races.
