LED reel lights

I have a 5 reel S2000 with LED reel lights that don't work. They won't come on in I/O reel light test. Here is what I've done. Swapped light up controller board with know good board. It is the LED board but cam out of a machine running regular lights. Swapped mpu, mother board and all three I/O cards. Swapped reel light up harness from light up controller to I/O. Could the light up control board drive lamps but be defective when it tries to drive reel LEDs? I can use all the help I can get

Are you sure you have a LED reel harness? They are different.

 this harness has the black Molex plug plus the extra two wire plug I think that means it's an LED harness

Sounds like the correct one. One black molex and two white plugs one with two wires and one with three.

That's the one I have. This is the only LED reel game I have so divide and conquer only goes so far. I'm still suspecting the reel light board. Is it possible for the board to drive bulbs but be faulty at driving LEDs?

The light controller is the next place I would go.
Still seems strange these things rarely fail.
Are any LEDs on the controller board lit?
Picture of controller board connections would help.

Maybe  one bad reel is bringing it down.
Or to confirm everything else in the machine is good if you have a set of incandescent reels and harness confirm that they work in the machine.
