Rumor has it that there is a chip called "97" that is used to clear a S2000, is that so?

31 is a key chip but you will need a one if you clear the machine. I recommend IVC00224 clear & KEY00045. A KEY00031 will leave you hanging with certain SG chips that require WAMM or IPC setup.

The only key chip I have is a 17, it works on the S2000 we have in the shop, is it considered a clear chip? I know it allows me to set WAMM.

Would a 97 give me more options?

A 97 is a RAM clear. They 17 is a key. You're right about the WAMM or IPC option with a 17. It is not possible with a 31. A 45 covers all. The 97 clear works on most however the PSR for most newer SG chips recommends using a 224. I would use a 224 for enhanced boards for sure.

Great, it took me a year to find a bin for the 17 chip, now I have to hunt for a 97 and a 224. Wish me luck.

Munch  I think you made a mistake by editing this one.  Now days we are allowed to ask for a file or sell a copied chip just so long as NLG had nothing to do with the sale or trade.

I should add, you should never need to clear an S2000 unless something is really wrong and all your settings are messed up.  99.9% of the time, if you just clear the errors after a game change, the machine functions correctly.  If you clear, you are going to have to change all the settings that default to casino settings in order for it to work as a stand-alone machine.
