LED Speakers
« on: June 30, 2018, 10:40:03 PM »
I have both a Alpha 2 Curve and V32 that I want to put the LED speakers in.

Was told you need the speaker assembly, wiring and a controller

I don’t know where to start with doing this

Anyone point me in the correct direction?

Thanks

You are correct.  You will need the speaker assembly (It is the red plastic backed one), a harness that connects it to the LCU controller, and an LCU controller that is flashed with the correct firmware.  Unfortunately it is hard to tell if the LCU board is correct.  I have 2 that look exactly the same, even the stickers on them are the same, but only one of them can drive the speakers.  So if you purchase one, make sure it has been tested with the speakers, otherwise you will just get pulsing LED's on all the cabinet LEDS.  It can be costly to acquire these items, so have a good budget in mind.

Thank you for the information

Do you happen to have a picture of the LCU controller?

I am out of town, this is the one I took while I was comparing the two boards, like I said, other than the date after the part number, all other stickers were identical.  This one is the one that worked.

I installed LED speakers in my machines.  I might have an extra 07/08 LCU card. Will have to check. There is an LED speaker on eBay now.  As for the cable, I bought one from someone here.  It was really long so I cut it in half and made two from it.  Then the other 2 I just made myself.

Here is what the LCU card looks like.  The 07/08 firmware cards are usually black.

Cool!  In case you didn't know, the dip switches on the LCU card control the LEDs that software doesn't which is usually the belly LEDs.  There is a sticker inside your machine on the back with the colors and switch positions.

I've been trying to figure out how to change the badge color!  When it powers up, it cycles through colors, but could not figure out how to change it.  I do not see that sticker on my machine, mind posting a photo of it?

You have one of each cabinet configuration!!!  I'm so drooling.....
