S2000 backlit reel bulbs information needed
« on: October 07, 2018, 06:11:40 PM »
I’m working on a 5 reel s2000 and I have reel bulbs burnt out. They say CLM F2 14V 3WX but no numbers?? I have a bunch of 14V #658 but they seem too dark. Anyone know where a #658 is used. I also found this fluorescent bulb in this machine with this writing on it, Casino Products.. Was this a bulb Co.?

658 is for the buttons. I usually replace those with LEDs. Yes they are dimmer than the 359X reel lamps.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

259 lamps are 6V. You might find those in a S Plus.

I just remembered where they go. They are for my early Bally V2000 poker games.

If your looking for the bulb in the picture then
search for the " F14T8CW " and you'll get the same bulb.

I have fluorescent bulbs.. I was referring to the wording on the bulb.. I have figured out that the wedge bulbs for the backlit reels are 359X. I wish Spin listed bulb numbers, not just the bulbs specs..

I use spins 12v LED's in s2000 5 button decks and back lit reels.  I also use either LED strips in place of fluo tubes or use the 6500K /D daylight tube instead of 4100K /CW cool white.

So you use the same large LED bulbs that are used in the deck buttons, for backlit reels?  As for the fluorescent bulb pic I posted, I was just wondering if anyone had seen this on a bulb before? Casino Products?

Yes I do.

No I have not ever seen that brand.  Wow, I use the 15w F15T8/D, didn't know they made a 14w version.  May check out the F14T8/D, they should be a tad brighter.  The 6500K's (D) look more like LED's.

F15T8 tubes are 15" long, F14T8 are 14" long.  Be careful or you'll end up an inch short  :fryingpan: .

F15T8 are 18" long, 15w.  The F14T8 are 15" long 14w, so can't use those, would be 3" short lol  (That's what she said.)

Why was that Casino products F14T8 even in the machine?

It might not have even come out of a S2000 or IGT... I work on older Bally’s too. I thought is was just an interesting question about the history and company, and wondered if anyone had ever seen a bulb with these markings before.. My original question was about the backlit reel bulbs numbers. 🤔🧐 I need to find my LED bulbs to try them in reel #1 tomorrow to see how they work. The reason I didn’t think they would work is because the reel bulbs stay lit at all time, but just at a low glow until you hit a winning combination..

You have to install the sockets into the reels first, then insert the LED bulbs into the sockets. You can't get the sockets installed with the LED's already in them.(if that makes any since).  You also have to get the polarity in correct direction.

Maybe I’ll just stick to the bulbs. I don’t feel like pulling reel strips today to install LEDs.
