Bally e-series repair help wanted

I have a Bally E-series 5 reel slot machine that i'm working on I believe its an E-2238 And am having an interesting issue. Everything seems to power on fine but it flashes between error codes. I believe it is because of the general illumination 10 amp fuse not being connected to the transformer. there are no wires from the fuse holder to any of the molex connectors or the transformer. Is this normal? and how would i know which wire goes where in the molex plugs and transformer?

If work on these E-Series Bally machines. Can you pull the fuse holder assemble and take pictures. I have a few fuse holed assembly’s here that we can compare the wiring. What codes are your machine displaying?

Here is the picture of the fuse holder in its place, the middle left fuse holder is the one that isn't connected to anything. the wires were cut and i also included a picture of the molex connector that the rest of the fuse holders wires go into. I also looked at the transformer again and it is wired properly. The third picture is a empty set of plugs below the power supply board that i'm not sure if something is supposed to be there or not. that could also be a reason the game doesn't run properly.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Been fighting a bad right foot, think I broke it. Does you game have the sound board? Non sound board machines only have 5 fuses. 6 if they have the sound board.

It does not have a sound board so that eliminates the cut fuse issue, now im just curious what that small board is and if there is something that goes into the 3 empty plugs.


Once i fix the fuse holders issue i'll fire it up again and see if its giving an actual error code.

Those 3 empty plugs could have been used for something a casino had connected to the game at one time and are no long needed or used. You should see some of the crap I remove from some games and the feet to yards of wiring.
Now what board are you referring to? Is it the one mounted on the back wall behind the hopper bowl? If yes then that’s the power supply for the slot machine. It has a 20 pin connector on the right edge. Those header pin solder joints tend to develop cold crack connections and burnt plug connections. Post a picture of the board it this is not the one your referring too. Let me find a complete fuse holder assembly here so I can get you a could pictures.

Ok. I found a fuse holder. The wire colors may be different then yours (maybe)?  Hopefully these will help you out..
