Help with Bally v1000 monitor

Hi everyone,  I picked up an old Bally v1297 video poker machine recently.  I got it running and it plays, but the monitor is pretty tired.  I was wondering if it is possible to easily convert it to an lcd?  Possibly using a vga converter similar to an old arcade cabinet?  Any advice is appreciated!

Never heard of anyone even trying to convert one of these onl V1000 to LCD. I guess anything’s possible with the converters out there. Fair warning, I don’t know of anyone who works on those old 4 board stacks, and parts are nearly impossible to find.

Ya, even my shop, the kingdom of old board repairs, stopped working on those old 4 card racks 6 years ago.
We still fix the 3 card racks though.

You can get a good working chassis for your CRT if you don't find a conversion. Amechanic that posted here maybe able to help with that?

Can’t say if it feasible. I don’t think anyone has ever attempted it before. Your biggest problem is getting the video signal correct. If your looking for a working CRT, contact K-Lar in Las Vegas. Alan has good used ones available.

I think that V1000 monitor is a 1492 Ceronix chassis.

Not Ceronix, usually Wells Gardner, The same one used on the V2000.Wells are easy to fix if he wanted to send it to me, and I could test it on my V2000 tester.

Hi all,  The monitor does work, but it needs a little tlc.  The image is slightly blurry, red seems dim or light colored, and I can't seem to get rid of the red blotches in the right corners.  I have tried degaussing it manually.  I just thought if it was possible to easily convert the signal to vga i could do away with this crt as i have been unable to find anyone local with experience tuning one of these up.  Didnt want to stick a  ton of money into it.  I picked up the machine non working for $50.  A little soldering and other misc repairs and it plays just fine now.

it is a  wells gardner monitor.  The tag is pictured in the 4th picture in the original post.

If you pull the monitor assembly out and look at the Flyback, there should be a focus knob. There also should be color adj knobs too on the Wells Gardner chassis. As Alan told you he has a tester to work on those chassis. It might be worth the few dollar to have it freshened up. There might be a problem with the degaussing circuit on the chassis because those red corners should clear up. Look good so far and a nice find for $50.00 👍..
