Igt Igame video Munsters
« on: May 04, 2019, 02:00:08 PM »
Hi all1) I just got this and need to change out some button bulbs including bulbs in the "insert bills light strip" The light strip has wedge 658, so I guess I'll get some of those, twist in base.
2) What I would like to know is the "button bulbs"...do you just yank on the white base from underneath?, or pinch or twist to get at the bulb? I don't want to break it....I'm guessing wedge style 555.
3) As you can see from the pictures provided (if I did it right); multiable bulbs. Cash out must be a led... 3 & 7 are lit and amber in color. max bet and replay are maybe a normal lite.. 12345 are dim white. Are my options replace all these with standard 555? and if I would decide to go led...I would need that replacement of ac/dc 6.3 for a 555?
Thanks for any imput

Do not put 6.3v bulbs in a game king/I-game.  You need 12v T5 wedge bulbs for buttons, 12v T10 wedge for behind yellow arrow

And don't yank or you might have broken sockets in your hand.
There are various ways to do this...
I CAREFULLY grasp the entire socket, the white part, and "toggle" (with a gentle pull) back and forth until it comes out.
The other way is use something thin and strong (I use a think tab from my feeler gauge) and pry off the clear part of the button, but you have to be careful not to slip and scratch the sides. Once that cap pops off you can use a bulb puller or just needle nose pliers with some tape on the.
But you need again to be careful and not squeeze the bulb! Or, you'll have broken bulb bits in the socket. I'd try the first method first.

STS is right....you must careful pulling out the lamp holder from the hole....the walls like to break esp if they're old and brittle.
Below I drew a simple picture showing you why we carefully rock the whole thing gently from side to side while pulling on it.
It's held in by indentation grabbing a triangular nib around the circumference of the lamp socket...>>>

Thanks GuysThanks for the drawing, now I understand why this is difficult. Looks to be the 2 options as stated.  Both options seem to have a chance of some type of damage, either to the bezel (pulling) or cap (popping out). :banghead:
Also
The bulbs behind the yellow arrow are c 658 which appear to be 14 volt from what I'm seeing. So maybe they are the wrong ones for that spot and should be 12 volt as stated earlier?

All bulbs run on 14vdc on I-game/game king.  It is OK to replace with 12v bulbs, especially LED bulbs since 12v are easy to find.

I'd try from the bottom first. Once you do a few, you will definitely get the "feel" of removing the sockets. And, just as important, when you put them back in you still may need to wiggle a little. Keep pressing IN until you hear a clear C L I C K - then you will know it's seated properly. Otherwise you'll think your button switch is bad when it's just the socket that wasn't in. When you do pull the first one, examine it closely and you will see where it goes in and where the microswitch is. This will give you a better idea of what we're talking about.
