PE+ Hopper payout vs handpay

Been a long time since I worked on a PE+.  This is a pre bill validator machine.  When you cash out it goes to handpay and I don't see within the options any way to set the hopper limit.  At first I thought it must be set to zero but there is no option for setting available.  Is there a dipswitch setting or jumper or something else to get it to pay through the hopper?

I have a hopper limit and a credit limit on mine. Did the machine have zero credits on it when you tried to change it? Maybe it won't appear with credits on (as some options do). That's the only thing I can think of, I know on my PE+ on the test screens there is definitely a setting for both hopper limit and credit limit. Just a quick thought off the top of my head

Thanks for the feedback.  There are no credits on the machine. Assume there must be a dip switch setting for hand pay vs hopper.

Hmm, odd. Maybe it is just that software, I can take a pic of the screens, I know both are there (hopper and credit limits). Maybe it has to do with the credit settings? Player initiated credit vs just credits? Mine is set to just plain "credits"? Just another thought. I've never had to mess with dip switches on mine but mine is also newer with the bill acceptor so maybe that's a factor?

Also if it is going to handpay always it's kinda strange. I have $1 tokens in mine so my hopper limit is 400. But I also only want a handpay on a top award when playing so I set my credit limit to 9999. I'd assume if I hit cashout at over 400 credits on the machine it would lock up for a handpay but I've never tried it. Just some further info for you if it's of use (which it hopefully is)

I have always seen the hopper limit screen on other machines. I will try some different software.

Yeah, I dont think I've ever seen the hooper limit option MIA but for sure from set to set the test menu settings are different. Certainly hope you get the issue resolved. If I can be of any help I gladly will, feel free to PM or anything if need be

I think what you're looking for is referred to as "Key on Credit"

Search for:   mame key on credit

There is a limited number of titles for this type of software but it's out there.

Figured it out.  Needed to exercise the E2 so changing to a super board caused a “Game Type” change and then going back to the original board from there causes a “game type” change which resets the contents of the E2 so the hopper limit now shows up
