Bally Alpha - Mechanical Reel Device Error

Hello Everyone


Its been a longtime since  worked on this platform. Recently had to fix some of these at a casino in Madagascar.


I have one 3 reel machine (Diamonds and Devils) that is giving me Mechanical Reel 4 and 5 Device Error Tilts.


The following has been done
* Ram Clear
* PSU Swap with working machine.
* RCU unit swap with working machine.


Any advice on how to clear these tilts appreciated.

There is a 3 reel and a 5 reel version of the software, are you sure you are using the correct one?

The 3 reel software version is this one : ASGDMDV1NVUI-XX

And the 5 reel software version (most common) : ASGDMDV01001-XX

I have one in the shop and it gives that error every once in a while, shoving the reel latches back in fixes it.

I just finished working on one with the same error. I reseated the reels , the reel wire harnesses to the back plane, the USB cables at the backplane, reseated the MPU, reseated the RCU, the cables going to the front of the MPU, and I used Deoxit on all the connections I reseated,  cleared it twice, and no cigar. Swapped in a known working RCU and its up and running.

Thanks all for the suggestions.
 
3 Reel software confirmed. Under Diagnostics Reel Test is working fine and reels are matching test image.
RCU already swapped but will give this a shot again.
Will also ask tech on site to re seat all connnectors relavant to the reel sections.

Do you use a 3 reel harness or a 5 reel harness (modified with connectors at terminal 4 and 5 ?
