Possible to clear credits without clear/set?
« on: September 29, 2020, 05:56:53 PM »
Bought an S+, has about 2500 credits on it - I obviously need to get this cleared in order to change some settings. Is there a way to get these cleared off WITHOUT having to do a cash out (which currently triggers hopper and I don't have 2500 quarters LOL)?

My understanding is, I can't change the hopper limit with credits in the machine.

SP980 Chip

Thanks all!
Marc

You can pull the cmos chip for 10 seconds and replace
You will then get the 61 push self test to 61-1 close all doors turn reset

Thanks! Much appreciated. Saves me a ton of time to cycle through 2500 quarters haha.

Dumb question, which is the CMOS chip on the mpu board? Don’t see any labeled as such.

Just a side note to this....
Generally speaking you would not need 2500 quarters. The typical max hopper limit is set to 300-400
When you cash out it would go to the hopper limit then move to a hand pay, and you would use your jackpot reset key to clear that.
You would still need 300ish quarters but assuming you had 50 it would still be a lot fewer than running through 2500.

Atypically someone would bring you over the giant cheque, take your picture and issue you a W2G.
Given this is likely your basement, I suspect you have some sway with general management...LOL

Haha, that's good to know - I wasn't willing to take a risk with hitting cash out with 2500 on the credit meter to see what would happen LOL.
