8 amp fuse blowing fuse?

Just moved my S Plus machine from my house to my mother in laws and now this fuse is blowing, any idea what may cause this? I don't see anything out of the ordinary

Did you take the cover off the power supply and look down inside? :sherlock:
How about under the motherboard?

Yes, took that cover off & nothing loose or touching in there, nothing under the motherboard either

Could it have something to do with the candle or one of the fluorescent ballasts/bulbs?

The clue to fixing this is following the fuse.
A short in the machine burns out a fuse.

What turns off when you pull out that fuse on a good machine?
When you do that, then you'll have an idea what to look for on those lines/wires.

If you want to fix machines, you have to learn how to diagnose problems.

The middle fuse has nothing to do with the ballasts or fluorescent lighting of an S+.
When you pull out the middle 8amp fuse, the reels lose power and the display goes out on the door.
Follow those and you'll solve your problem.

For more information on your machine, download an S+ service manual and read it.

I could be wrong on the 8A fuse part, did not have my glasses on at the time, I'm at work right now so I can't check it out right now but it was definitely the bottom fuse. I thought it was the one that handles the fluorescent lights

If it is the bottom fuse, then it has something to do with the 115vac,  unplug all the connections to the lower module and see if the fuse still blows, if so then the problem is something inside the module, ( a coin or something shorting out the input filter)  there are two plugs on the left side ( not the power cord) and all the small black and white connectors on the back, ( not the larger plug, that is the connection to the on/off switch.

okay...in your first comment, originally you said the middle fuse was blowing.

That's why I told you what happens when that 8A fuse burns out.


There's not supposed to be an 8 amp fuse on the bottom....6 amps only.

Top fuse=6A

Middle fuse=8A

Bottom fuse=6A
