Ok you will have to do a key chip in order to enable your printer in key chip config 2 if in fact there is a problem with the printer it will try netplex config for a second or two then go back to disabled. I don't think you can enable in auto config unless you have enabled in key chip config first. As for the key chip, 45 is the newest key chip and works with every board/software I haven't used a 17 or 31 in a wile. The same goes with the clear a 224 will work on old and new boards/software.

This problem solved, Stay tuned for my upcoming question posted under a new topic.  Thank you all who responded I would have never made it this far without all your help.  I ended up changing cable (don't believe that was the issue), I installed key chip and then enabled printer in key chip config II and printer is now printing.
