Boards for IGT S2000

Good afternoon I have a quick question. Since the 502/504 boards are becoming more and more harder to get ahold of here lately. Would it be possible to use a 3902 board in its place?

No, sorry.


The 3902 is for a Video platform.


A good option is upgrading to a 1270 Enhanced Board though. You'll just need to change the Backplane over to mate with it and obtain the Daughter Card for your software.

The main reason I'm asking is I need 16 of these boards to finish up the rebuilds on some of IGT S2000 machines.I currently have 8 of the 3902 boards in my supplies that I could use, if they would work.

The 502's and 504's are  extremely hard to find in quantities and very expensive . I tried for 10 and no luck.  Until maybe someone comes up with a modified home use replacement board like the one a NLG member has for Jennings 400.  And look at the TITO board Brian has, the power supply board and hopper boards for the E series Bally. So there is some great engineering out there!!!  At this time I won't take a S2000 machine unless it has a acid free MPU.  There is hundreds of S2000 machines available currently but all the MPU's are junk . Even If I could transfer some copyrighted components on my damaged board to a legal new modified home use board that has sockets for those components. And there's probably some circuits and components not needed on a new modified board.

I totally agree with you....some things on the 50X MPU's aren't needed for home use.
One of the biggest reasons they corroded so much is because the Varta batteries were never changed.
They were in there too long for sure.
A modified MPU is probably in the works as we speak...can't wait to see the results!
