S2000 VISION LCD screen surround lights
« on: February 05, 2022, 12:06:29 PM »
Printing the manual as I type this, but wanted to see if anyone has had this issue and if there is a quick fix. Got the MATA HARI up and running, but the lights that frame the screen do not illuminate. Any quick pointers?

Does it have a driver board?  It was missing from my vision machine when I got it.

Not sure, but everything else works. There was a driver board dedicated the the frame lights?

Yes, there's a ring light controller that plugs into the LED ring, power, and the vision computer.  If it's missing everything works, except the ring lights.

Cool thanks TILT. Any photos so I know what to look for? Not seeing any mention in the maintenance manual, I'll see if the trouble shooting manual is in the files section....

It's this board on the back of the LCD unit with the flat ribbon cable.

This one is just held on by a couple of red plastic zip ties...you can use other colors...  :cool_thumb_up:

Here's what it looks like on a vision CPU that's not missing the back cover as well as the wiring diagram for it.

Great! Thanks for the pics. Been wrestling with the screen door assembly, cannot get it to budge. Figured out why.... The upper box chrome molding is tight against the screen assembly. Going to have to remove it somehow to get the screen to swing out. what a PITA.

There's a spring loaded release pin on the lower left side of the CPU.  Pull it out and swing the door open to the right.

I  was aware of the release pin, but had to remove a side of the top box to get the upper molding off, so I could open the screen assembly, as the molding/glass retainer was flush and tight against the screen assembly. Good news, there's a driver board, bad news it doesn't seem to work, or maybe its the ring itself. There was a super loose ground strap that I tightened, and I unplugged and replugged the harness going to the light ring. Still no joy. Is the attract light supposed to be on anytime the game is powered up or only certain time?

I've heard that there's a battery inside the screen assm. Is this correct and would it effect function of the attract ring? Also I have a card in the side, but not in the top. Again, everything seems to work except the LED attract ring.

Here's a couple pics..

Follow these and make sure where they are plugged in. I have the diagram for the light board and that supplies the 13vdc that is needed to operate. It also has a 25vdc but it is not used. make sure it is getting power. Where does that set of wires plug into??? I have a feeling you dont have power going into it but 2 plugs going out / crossover to power something else.. Do they go to the topbox power distribution board on the back wall shown in the 2nd picture?

Mark, Where do you extra 2 4 pin plugs go? You have power going in from the topbox power distribution I'm sure, but where is the other 2 4pin molex going?
