« on: February 28, 2015, 04:24:03 PM »
Hi

In the middle of a 5 reel to 3 reel conversion, can some one tell me what I/O BOARDS are needed for door & cabinet. I believe 801 for door, but what about cabinet. Also i changed the back lit controller board from 5 reel to 3 reel type, how many connections are made to the 3 reel board,i have two plugged in now,but have this 4 wire plug with out a home, see pictures.
THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP.

That's the power for your controller. Usually goes on top left but since yours is installed upside down it goes lower right to the open connector in your pic. Cabinet I/O remains unchanged, 801 for the door is correct.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Thanks

I turned the back lit controller board around, all is good there. But have a few more last connections that need a home or landing place to connect.
#1 the 5 reel deck has a closed end plug, that had a plug,is that what i use on the 3 reel deck,as it has the same ?
#2 The 5 credit lite box, what plugs in there?
#3 The black in white plug, where might i finds its connection point.
#4 And credit box has two connections, but i only have one installed?

And do recommend cutting the metal bracket that supports vfd & glass

THANKS

1 The coin bypass plug (pic2) needs to be transferred to you other harness.

2 There should be a black flat connector in your harness inside the door that connects to the light box. It has 5 brown wires & 1 red. It's probably zip tied.

3 The black & white connectors (pic 4) go inside the cabinet behind the first reel. You should have disconnected your other harness there. Those are for the door optic & BV bezel light.

4 The other connector on the credit panel goes to the denom light box that is missing from your setup. I would not cut the display bracket but would try to find the correct one or even better a long reel glass.

I might add that the I/O in your picture is no longer needed & your wires that are plugged in to it at the top should go inside the door to a 801. Those other wires pictured are for the fluorescent ballast inside the door, green ground.

Mark,
you can remove the additional I/O bracket & wiring. It's only needed if you want to go back to a dual row button panel.

HI

I got all the connections made. Since I'm  changing games going from multi    denomination set up to 25 cent, i under stand i must clear first with a 97. Is that correct ?
Also i have a clear chip, but it just says CLEAR CHIP no number markings,if i don't know what number it it is,would it be best to order one?

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP

no need to clear as long as your accounting denom is $0.01
only enable one player denom set to $0.25
