(Found) WTB: eprom for mastercom.

I am looking for an eprom that will work in the mastercom 250.
the one that is installed has the error "Bad novram check"
Not too worried about what casino it is from, although I know some people can custom program them, I would just like it to work.

Probably just the wording or how I am reading it, but are you sure it is an eprom you need? I think in a lot of cases NOVRAM refers to a type of memory chip that isn't an eprom but is a memory chip that can be written to on the board, like a flash ram. But I could be completely in error about this. Is the chip you are needing the one that goes in the large empty socket, writing on the board says "Am29F010" ?

If so, different places have them, such as Jameco, ebay:

If you do buy a chip like this you might need to check on what speed chip is needed for the board.

Rudy's is a great deal but be advised that chip is not included. They have been removed.
Note the mastercom should still boot with no errors if you remove that chip. There just won't be a message displayed.

Wow- why would they do that? Do they then sell the chip separately, or is that the way they get the Mastercom's in the first place?  At least the replacement chip is less than $5. Do you know what speed it should be, I saw them in -70, -120, -150 and other ratings?

The casino probably removed them before he got them.
I used a 512k size chip 29F040B running at 90 and had no issues.
