Sorry for the typo. I meant to say that based in further research from this forum, the daughter board that I see, is a sound board.

See attached.

The RAM's are surface mount on a PC board that has pins that plug into the RAM socket.

If you are not measuring any voltage at any one of the RAM chips carefully unplug the RAM PC board with the RAM chip soldered to it.

Make sure it comes straight out of the socket (don't try to pry the socket off of the board!) and plug it back in.

Then measure again.

I always use a bent screwdriver and pry one side up a little then the other side till the RAM board is removed.

If you still don't read any voltage some trace coming from the battery is open.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

Be very careful removing the RAM chips the pins are very brittle and you can not straighten them if bent. Be sure the pins are all still attached and not snapped off already as this may be your problem.

Thank you for this reference. I'll measure the points when I get back home tonight and follow up here on the forum! Thank you all for your help! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Ok, based on the reference given, I am not getting vcc on the ram chips. I am, however,  getting bcc on the ram chips by directly connecting the test lead to the negative battery terminal. I am getting 2.599vcc on each reference point given for each ram chip.

This leads me to believe that the negative trace from the battery terminal is broken. I unsoldered the battery terminal and in fact, I can see that the trace was lifted and broken off. I can see the positive terminal trace but where would be the next point to jump the negative battery terminal to?

I don't have a schematic that shows the reference to the (coin cell) battery terminal. Based on this analogy, theoretically, if I'm not getting Vcc to the ram chips, the positive battery traces back to each reference point but not the negative, all I will have to do to fix this "batt low issue" is jumper the negative battery terminal to the first negative point on the pcb. I don't have a schematic that shows the reference points from the battery so I'm stuck for now.

Thank you all for this help! If any of you guys have the schematic or the next location reference to the negative battery terminal, please let me know. This should get my machine back up and running.

Negative connects to ground.

You could run a jumper under the board from the battery (-) to the MINUS (logic ground) shown in the PDF I sent you and that should solve your problem.

If I do that, won't I skip traces? I would like to jump to the nearest component closest to the negative bat terminal, to make sure that I don't skip any circuits that use the negative side. I could jump directly to the logic neg terminal of the ram chip but it's a long distance from the rest of the components....

I ran a continuity test from the neg bat terminal to the neg of the ram chips and for sure that there is a broken trace. On the other hand, the pos battery terminal to the pos of the ram chips, do get continuity.

If the trace for the negative battery terminal can't be repaired you can run a jumper wire from the negative terminal to ANY part of the grounding circuit, like that leg of the ram chip socket. It's one ground all ground

It's working! Thank you all for your help. All this trouble caused by the negative trace from the (coin cell) battery! Thank you all for your help! The machine is now working again.... :)

Hi,

I have the same issue as you had. I soldered just the way you did but it does not work. Maybe that 's the positive that does not work on mine? ...
